It’s a New Year!
Hey, ladies! I wanted to pop in and let you know what is going on with me lately. I planned to start this new year off by sharing other people’s stories and get into a consistent schedule, but obviously that has not happened yet.
For me the year started off with crazy flooding in our area. Some of you know that our house flooded three years ago and when this past week’s flooding happened, we were very concerned it would happen again. When the water came up to our door, we loaded up our fur-babies and evacuated before we got trapped. We were able to return to our house the next morning and found it was spared from the flood waters by the grace of God!
After all that excitement, we had a cold snap that killed my car battery. I tried to go to work on Monday morning and it wouldn’t start. Thankfully, we got it to jump start and I was able to get to work. We had to take it to the dealership to be changed because the car had to be lifted and the tire removed to access the battery. Crazy, right?! Why can’t they make it simple? After spending some money and time, it was fixed though.
On top of all this, I have been sick for a couple weeks with a head cold and upper respiratory junk and I can’t seem to shake it. My husband also has it and we can’t wait for it to pass! I ask that you would pray for us so that we can be completely well and able to start on our new year goals. I sure hope these first two weeks of 2017 aren’t an indicator of how the entire year will be!
I’m excited to share that I was published for the first time in Journey magazine this month! It is a devotional published by Lifeway. My devotional is for January 16th if you have a copy or you can order from Lifeway’s website. I also have a devotional to be published in February’s copy. I hope to be able to share these publications with you in the near future.
I have lots of goals and plans in the works for different areas of my life this year and I want to be able to minister to others as well. I look forward to sharing other people’s stories as well as my own in the coming weeks. I’m also looking for feedback for what YOU need in your life. What is an area of your life that you struggle with and would like encouragement in? Do you have questions about God or His Word that you would like to find the answer to? Is there a topic that you would like covered? Are there certain resources that you need but haven’t found yet (devotionals, printable study guides, etc.)? Also, would you like to share YOUR story to help others? Contact me and let me know.
I look forward to the rest of this year even though the beginning hasn’t started off the way I would have wanted. Each new day is a gift from God and a chance to start over. No matter our circumstances, God is still in control. God’s grace is big enough for anything we struggle with. His power is perfected in our weakness. All we have to do is allow God to work in us and through us. That is the prayer of my heart.
Join me as we allow God to work and make each day a better day than yesterday!
